Mercury Systems Selected as Platinum Partner in Intel's FPGA Design Solutions Network
CHELMSFORD, Mass., May 12, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mercury Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:MRCY) (www.mrcy.com), announced that it has been selected to join Intel's FPGA technology-based Design Solutions Network (DSN) as a platinum-tier provider, giving Mercury customers enhanced access to a rich portfolio of FPGA and IP solutions that Intel acquired with Altera. Altera is now the Intel Programmable Solutions Group (PSG).
"We have worked collaboratively over several FPGA generations and have come to value Mercury's embedded industry insight and their supporting technologies," said Vince Hu, Vice President, Customer Experience Group, Intel Programmable Solutions Group. "These efforts have expanded the applications served by our processing solutions in several key areas, including radar and electro-optical (EO)/infrared (IR) sensors."
The DSN program unifies the former Altera Design Services Network, AMPP and board/COTS members into a single program with common membership criteria and benefits. This new program enables customers to find and utilize members to help accelerate time to market and lower product development risk, while offering DSN members comprehensive benefits to accelerate new Altera customer projects or board/IP development.
The collaboration facilitates the close support required for early access to FPGA devices. "This approach is a win-win," said Shaun McQuaid, Mercury's Director of Product Management. "As in the case of the new Stratix® 10, early device access enables a faster, reduced risk development process which benefits our customers and facilitates rapid feedback."
For example, Mercury has recently successfully pre-integrated server-class Intel® Xeon® E5 processors with the latest Intel PSG FPGAs into SWaP-efficient, rugged, scalable modules. Uniquely, Mercury technology enables the most capable commercial processors to be densely packaged into secure, embedded, open system processing blades for reliable, full-speed deterministic processing subsystems. These processing solutions are ideally suited to streaming low-latency signal processing applications and distributed networks including next-generation radar, complex image intelligence (IMINT), and multi-functional sensor chain and advanced, coordinated situational awareness applications. Mercury is currently developing their fifth generation of Xeon E5 and Stratix 10—based OpenVPX™ blades to deliver server-class processing at the tactical edge.
All Mercury's embedded processing solutions are designed and made in the USA using devices from trusted supply chains.
